About the event

HUG A MUG – Hug a dog café

TWO SITTINGS 12-14:00 and 14:00-16:00

Our first Dachshund café event is strictly booking only

Hug A Mug is a lovely traditional coffee house nestled in the heart of Gateacre Village in south Liverpool.

Tickets are £6 per human and £9 for dog lovers. This includes a guided dog walk in Gateacre which will end at Hug A Mug. Once inside you can take your seat in the coffee house and your doggy companion can receive their own pupuchino to munch on. Once the café is full, the door will be locked and dogs can go off lead and you can sit back and relax with your complementary hot drink. Delicious home made cakes and doggy treats will be available to purchase.

Doggy Care

Whilst we will try and keep all dogs as safe as possible during the event, please keep an eye on your dog whilst at Hug A Mug as we can not be responsible for their care.

We kindly ask that dogs have peed and pooped prior to arrival and if an accident does occur, you notify a member of staff immediately. Wipes and poop bags will be available on the day.

Dogs in season will not be allowed to attend the event for their own safety and that of other dogs.

Dog Lovers

Dog lovers make these events special and have a great time getting up close to other dogs and make new fury friends. Please check with owners before making direct contact with any dogs. Please be advised that there may be people who do not turn up and so the dog numbers may not be as expected.

Dogs who have special dietary requirements will have ‘DO NOT FEED’ bandana on. Please respect this. Also be aware that some nervous or anxious dogs may be in attendance and should be approached in a sensitive manner.

The walk will commence from the car park of the Bear and Staff pub next to the coffee house. This is a free car park. On road parking is also available on Gateacre Brow itself, but we ask guests to kindly not park in Sandfield Road as this is a small road that needs to be accessible to residents. Please ensure all dogs are on lead during their walk around Gateacre to ensure their safety around the village.
